Mymicrogallery is pleased to present “Give Way to the Trees,” a project inspired by the book of the same name by Italian poet Franco Arminio, running from January 15 to 30, 2026, with the opening on Thursday, January 15. Seven artists explore themes of nature, time, and space through photography, sculpture, fiber art, painting, and installation, inviting viewers to pause, observe, and reflect.

The exhibition is not merely an aesthetic journey: it is a poetic and political act. The gesture of “giving way to the trees” becomes a metaphor for necessary resistance, an invitation to rethink the relationship between humans and the environment, between urban and natural space, between consumption and care.
The poet’s verses exude intimacy and civic passion, a yearning to look at the landscape as a living body, to identify with it, so as to no longer be strangers to ourselves.

The works explore the possibility of slowing down, of listening to what grows and endures, and of recognizing the collective dimension of our living: the city, the squares, the streets, the woods are shared territories that deserve respect and attention.
Through the works, the visitor is accompanied on a poetic and sensorial journey: photographs that capture suspended moments and overlooked details, sculptures that interact with the physical space of the gallery, paintings and installations that evoke symbols of life and resilience. The dialogue between the artists builds a contemporary echo of Arminio’s message: nature is not ornament, but a living and essential presence.

Trees are a symbol of balance between what is above and what is below. They speak to us of endurance, involvement, and attachment. The tree is a cosmos that embraces the psychic spheres of creativity and initiation, which transcend space and time. Roots are foundation and origin, and they are also the first part to emerge when the seed germinates. With their strength and power, they always find a way to make room. It is life that imposes itself. It is an act of disobedience: what is alive breaks what is imposed, planned, and controlled. The silent strength of roots is a symbol of the creative process.

“Give Way to the Trees” invites us to rethink our daily gestures, our relationship with the environment and the community, transforming poetic contemplation into an act of civil and collective responsibility.
