MyMicroGallery is pleased to announce “Sul filo del Dubbio” (On the Edge of Doubt), a solo exhibition by artist Augusta Bariona. The exhibition consists of eighteen works, including several large-scale pieces created specifically for MyMicroGallery. In the artist’s recent production—having practiced collage for many years with a focus on naturalistic themes—we encounter an unprecedented approach, both in terms of scale and the process of image formation. Here, the focus shifts toward abstraction, where painting becomes the representation of an idea through the process of “making.” Through her work, the artist offers us the opportunity to reflect on doubt through a dilated vision that embraces multiple perceptive aspects of reality.

“Her research addresses the empty and full spaces of color. It is a space dense with all possibilities, an energetic fixation of matter that evokes wonder. The image emerges from an inner reservoir of visual impulses—an abstract field where dripping finds its raison d’être; a ‘cooled’ dripping that transforms into writing, into a sign. It carries within it the seed of doubt: whether to yield to impulses or to restrain oneself, to speak or to remain silent, to act or to stay still. These traces silently move toward change, flowing from a magma, from a chasm. They are events, occurrences, rivers that reunite with the sea of infinite possibilities.” (From the introductory text)
