Rosaspina Buscarino: Eclipse

MyMicroGallery is pleased to announce the solo exhibition of the artist Rosaspina Buscarino entitled “Eclipse”. Eclipse, from the Greek Ekleipsis means abandonment, it is the moment in which the common light sources are swallowed for a brief moment. The eclipse represents the I obscured by the Unconscious. A symbolism that refers to the temporary extinction of light inevitably followed by its rebirth. Everything therefore comes from an annulment, the artist does not present the pictorial work, but rather its photographic image, the “avatar”, its alter ego.
“The look inside the lens of Rosaspina Buscarino, configures the emergence of an absence, the eclipse of an object and its reappearance as something else: the” here and now “is imposed as an elsewhere. In this contradiction, her photographic research is generated and justified in her emotional and cognitive clarity. The cognitive aspect is the most profound and peremptory: the experience of otherness as a question on the object, on its consistency, on the light that can envelop it, hit it, distort it, abandon it adrift. The fact that the object photographed is “the work” – as Rosaspina Buscarino points out – does not change the nature of the relationship with what lies beyond the camera, but I believe it can reveal a mysterious and somehow unfathomable aspect. However, from a specific angle it invests the theme of the gaze, of detachment from the work, of the search for art as an inescapable failure of the will, as a surrender to the work itself that takes its path, which has in itself a germinative element, initial , autonomous. “The rituality of the photographic act is the bearer of the experience of a threshold, of a passage, of the sublimation of matter, between concreteness and abstraction.
